12 Revised Standard Version Passage

38And in his teaching he said, "Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and to have salutations in the market places The Denouncing of the Scribes  Mk.12.38-40 | Mt.23.1-36 | Lk.11.37-52 | Lk.20.45-47
39and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, 
40who devour widows' houses and for a pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation."
